“Those Barren Leaves” is a satiric novel written by renowned British author Aldous Huxley and published in 1925. The story follows a group of artists and intellectuals who have been gathered in an Italian palace by the socially ambitious Mrs. Aldwinkle. As the hostess attempts to relive the glories of the Italian Renaissance she is ultimately failed by the superficiality and pretensions of the so called cultural elite.
